epiic experiences are one-week programs designed for teens to explore topics they care about and collaborate in small teams to develop their own innovative startup ideas. 
No two weeks are ever the same!

Summer 2016 epiic Experiences:


This one-week program focuses on women in entrepreneurship! Work alongside enthusiastic young ladies and explore the coolest new ideas being created by strong, talented females. Collaborate in a team to develop your own female-led startup. Open to female students only.

Program Dates:  July 11 - July 15 from 9:00am - 4:30pm

This one-week program exposes high schoolers to Boston's world-renowned colleges and universities. Each day teens investigate what entrepreneurship and innovation looks and feels like on a different campus by meeting with current students and exploring available resources and programs. College Quest allows students to compare, contrast and evaluate which Boston programs best meets their collegiate and career aspirations. Additional workshops may include "Resume 101", "Gathering Real-World Experiences", "Tapping into Boston's Collegiate Resources", "Funding a College Startup", "Nailing the College Essay", and/or "Building Your Personal Brand."

Program Date:  July 18 - July 22  from 9:00am - 4:30pm


This one-week program focuses on protecting the environment through innovative solutions! Explore issues related to water conservation, energy alternatives, clean transportation, and more! Hear from a variety of local CleanTech entrepreneurs and explore startups working to address vital environment-related issues. Develop your own Environmental or CleanTech startup.

This one-week program is all about food! Explore issues related to food sustainability, food deserts, developing healthy eating habits and more! Meet with entrepreneurs and startups across Boston working to make healthy food options available to all. Work in a team to develop your own food fighting startup.


Program Dates: August 1 - 5 from 9:00am - 4:30pm

This one-week program focuses on the how entrepreneurs are combining their love of the arts with innovative ideas. Learn about the coolest spaces, people and ideas coming out of the arts, fashion, music, and design.  Work in a team to develop your own creative artistic startup.

This one-week program is perfect for teens obsessed with technology! Participate in our incubator program to explore a variety of problems that can be solved using innovative, tech-based solutions. Get advice from the hottest techie entrepreneurs as you transform your idea into a reality! 

Program Dates: August 15 - August 19 from 9:00am - 4:30pm


All programs include a combination of these epiic elements:

Entrepreneurial Mindset: Innovators and entrepreneurs are creative problem solvers. They view challenges as opportunities and provide valuable solutions that meet customers' needs. It takes a combination of creativity, critical thinking, empathy, perseverance, and the growth mindset to change the world.

Tools: How do innovators and entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life? Learn key concepts and strategies around customer development, the design thinking process, the lean startup, and the business model canvas to transform your ideas into real solutions.

Network: It's all about who you know. Engage with Boston's best and brightest innovators and entrepreneurs, explore innovation and entrepreneurship on local campuses, and see some of the most inspiring spaces. Learn how to navigate Boston's entrepreneurial ecosystem and develop a deep appreciation for our nation's most entrepreneurial city!


Every week is unique, but an example of daily activities include:

Monday:

  • Get to know one another activities
  • Guest speakers from local startups
  • Explore and define problems
  • Form teams

Tuesday:

  • Field trip to local startup
  • Engage with potential customers
  • Brainstorm solutions

Wednesday:

  • Field trip to local maker space or fab lab
  • Build solution prototypes
  • Test with peers and iterate solutions

Thursday:

  • Field trip to test prototypes with potential customers
  • Iterate solutions
  • Guest speakers with funding experience

Friday:

  • Develop pitch presentation
  • Pitch Competition with panel of judges and community audience
